Important Notice to Landlords Serving Baltimore County Housing Choice Voucher Holders
This notice is to inform you that, effective immediately, the Baltimore County Office of Housing will no longer send reminder notifications regarding opportunities to request rent increases for leases associated with Housing Choice Voucher participants.
Previously, these notifications included a copy of the Rent Increase Request form. Going forward, this form will be available through the Landlord Portal and on the Baltimore County website.
It is the responsibility of the landlord to monitor lease anniversary dates and submit rent increase requests in accordance with program requirements and applicable timelines. Please note that unit’s last pass inspection date must be indicated on the form and the tenant must sign the request prior to submission. All approved rent increases are subject to a 7% cap.
The Rent Increase form must be submitted no earlier than one hundred fifty (150) days in advance or no more than one hundred twenty (120) days prior to the anniversary date of the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) contract. For example, if the HAP contract’s anniversary date is May 1st, the Rent Increase form should be submitted no earlier than December 1st, but no later than December 31st.
If you have questions or need additional assistance, please contact us at (410) 887-2766 or hcvrentincrease@baltimorecountymd.gov.
Thank you for your continued partnership with the Baltimore County Office of Housing.
